Is it safe to consume King's Hawaiian products during the COVID-19 epidemic?
There is currently no evidence that food or food packaging is associated with the transmission of COVID-19. Unlike foodborne gastrointestinal (GI) viruses such as norovirus and hepatitis A, which commonly make people sick through contaminated food, SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, is a virus that causes respiratory illnesses. Dietary exposure to this virus is not known as a route of transmission.
How should I store my bread when I get home?
King's Hawaiian Buns are best stored in a cool, dry place.
Why is the kosher symbol on some packages and not others? Aren't they all Kosher certified?
All the ingredients we use in our products are Kosher certified. Our kosher certification is KD (Kosher Dairy) because we use dairy in our Hawaiian breads and rolls. Due to the strict requirements necessary for KD certification, some of our products, i.e. those most likely to be used with meat products at home, cannot bear the KD stamp. So while all of our breads and rolls are made with the same kosher-certified ingredients and produced in the same bakeries, only our unsliced products are eligible for the certification symbol. (This applies to KING'S HAWAIIAN® breads and rolls (sweet Original Hawaiian varieties with honey salted butter) available in grocery stores nationwide and not to our baked goods sold at our restaurants and bakeries in Torrance, California).
