Frequently Asked Questions | hawaiian king (2023)

Is it safe to consume King's Hawaiian products during the COVID-19 epidemic?

There is currently no evidence that food or food packaging is associated with the transmission of COVID-19. Dietary exposure to this virus is not known as a route of transmission.

How should I store my bread when I get home?

King's Hawaiian Buns are best stored in a cool, dry place.

Why is the kosher symbol on some packages and not others? Aren't they all Kosher certified?

All the ingredients we use in our products are Kosher certified. Our kosher certification is KD (Kosher Dairy) because we use dairy in our Hawaiian breads and rolls. Due to the strict requirements necessary for KD certification, some of our products, i.e. those most likely to be used with meat products at home, cannot bear the KD stamp. So while all of our breads and rolls are made with the same kosher-certified ingredients and produced in the same bakeries, only our unsliced products are eligible for the certification symbol.

Can I eat your products straight from the package?

Yeah! Our products are ready for consumption as they are fully baked. In fact, most people say our bread and rolls don't even make it to the table because they break right away. Most of our products have a tray or pan that can be baked in the oven, but don't be fooled... this is just so you can easily pop them in the oven and enjoy them warm. Please see the question below for instructions on how to heat our products.

How do you heat your products?

Keep the product inside the container and only remove the plastic packaging! Place in a preheated 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for about 2 to 3 minutes for rolls and 3 to 5 minutes for bread, depending on how hot you want it. Then you will have a sweet smelling home to enjoy your scones. You can also microwave the rolls for about 5 to 10 seconds in a standard microwave, wrapping them in a damp paper towel.

Can I freeze your products?

Yes. However, if you plan to eat our bread within a week or two, you don't need to freeze it. We recommend storing our bread in a cool, dry place. If you want to keep the product longer, you can freeze it. When you're ready to eat it, simply set it out on the counter for a few hours to thaw, then enjoy!

What is the best way to store your products?

We recommend storing our bread in a cool, dry place like the pantry. This will ensure that your products stay as fresh as possible.
